Rehabilitation in Overseas Co-operation
Rehabilitation is often seen as a phase between relief and development co-operation, but this concept advocates a smooth transition between the three areas of intervention. (2007)
Rehabilitation is a key aspect of Welthungerhilfe’s Sector Portfolio. Since the 1990s, Welthungerhilfe has continued to raise its presence in countries and regions which have either been struck by atural disasters or have fallen victim to armed hostilities. Whether through its own structures or in collaboration with local partner organisations, this on-going, long-term presence in critical regions means that Welthungerhilfe is able to both respond more rapidly and effectively to new crises, conflicts and disasters as well as provide the affected population with a long-term perspective in development co-operation based on their specific requirements and the possibilities at hand.
