Promoting Renewable Energy Services for Social Development
(June 2015) This „real time evaluation“ provides the project with a systematic assessment at an early stage. Thus, it almost exclusively aims at institutional learning that enables the project’s management to improve the quality of the project.
After a decade of civil war, which caused tens of thousands of deaths, since 2000 the country has engaged in its reconstruction and is coming to terms with its recent history. The country is deeply indebted and struggling with extreme poverty.
The ‘Promoting Renewable Energy Services for Social Development Project in Sierra Leone (PRESSD-SL)’ intends to contribute to the alleviation of poverty in Sierra Leone by promoting renewable energy services for improved economic livelihoods, while promoting low-carbon development.
