Floods in Pakistan
Welthungerhilfe stands by the flood victims over the long term
(25.08.2010) Bonn. The continuing flooding presents the people of Pakistan with a challenge that they will never be able to overcome on their own. “The international community and the aid agencies are consequently facing a huge task that will take several years to complete. At Welthungerhilfe we have therefore decided to expand the emergency relief aid measures we have taken so far, and we have decided that we will also actively assist the people with the reconstruction over the years to come", says Bärbel Dieckmann, Welthungerhilfe's Chairperson, who is currently visiting the disaster areas in Pakistan.
